When did you start cycling? - Started seriously in 2002.

How long have you been a member of Centreville? - Since 2002.

What bike(s) do you own? - (1) Pinarello Marvel (best road bike); (2) Giant TCR (time trialling bike); (3) Ribble winter bike; (4) Surosa track bike; (5) Kona hybrid for commuting to work.

Favourite training ride? - (1) Puerto Pollenca, Campanet, Selva, Lluc, Sa Collobra, Pollenca, Puerto Pollenca (on Majorca) and (2) a 2 hour loop of quiet Norman villages near Barnville-Carteret (in Northern France).

Most memorable race? - (1) Warrington RC 4-up in 2006 with Swithers, Watty and Jon Dance (I hung on and got all the way around with them); (2) National 10 in 2006 - just being involved was great even if it pi$$ed it down all the way through.

Best ever result? - 1st in the Centreville 10 in 2005.

Longest ever ride? - Rode from Crawley to Paris and back in 2002 over 6 days for end of TDF.

How many miles did you cycle last year? - Not enough.

Favourite cafe? - currently the Little Frog in Ramsbottom (about 50 yds from my house), but changes regularly.

Favourite food? - Salad (I’m trying to lose weight at the moment).

Other hobbies/interests? - Playing the guitar, writing and watching Salford City Reds.

Longest Ever Ride: 274 miles (in 1978) rode out from Ashton To Rochdale - did 250 miles in 24 hours reliability ride (when in East Lancs RC) then rode 12 miles back to Ashton. (The ride started at 6.30pm from Rochdale on a Sat and went via Queensferry (North Wales), Llandudno, Betwys Coed, Llangollen (breakfast), Shrewsbury,Hazel Grove, Ashton, Home. I did this ride 3 years on the trot but only once whilst living in Ashton. It was mental torture to go through Ashton to Rochdale and back to Ashton at the end of the ride!!)
