When the nights draw in I really enjoy riding at both the Velodrome and the Tameside outdoor road racing circuit and would be interested to hear from members who would fancy jumping on a social session on Friday 8 October 18:00, hosted by the club. I estimate the cost per member will be approx. £5.00 for a 2 hour session
Professional coach and club member Peter Deary, has kindly offered his services on the 8 October 2021 and I am sure Peter will provide a range of drills and activities that will make this an enjoyable evening.

Nick, would be useful to members to add a) the Tameside circuit website address and b) the postcode for the circuit so members get a feel for the journey and what the circuit is about

To all who have ever been interested in learning to ride the velodrome , Nick mentions within his text doing so, some information for you on this.
This morning (28 th Sept) I as per most weeks have ridden a 2 hour SQT session at the track, the session is available for up to 40 Accredited riders but only 11 registered and turned up. On talking to the coach and others I gathered that for the ‘learners sessions’ the TASTER Sessions some have recently had to be cancelled due too little interest and some sessions have been run with 6 or 7 riders.
Therefore in the period up to when the velodrome closes for its remedial works a great opportunity is available to get your introduction sessions and maybe skills & competency to progress onto the Accreditation route.
If you are interested on taking these ‘early step’ go onto the Manchester velodrome website http://www.nationalcyclingcentre.com/ and check the timetable and book on.
