Danny Shackleton put in an epic performance at the Harry Middleton Cycling Club’s 10 mile time trial on Rainford on May 27th, finishing an overall 6th position and first vet with a time of 22:17 on a day which saw only 4 riders from a field of 92 beat the 22 minute mark!
Times on the day were around 40 seconds to a minute slower than riders regular times on this course due to very high winds from the south, meaning that over half of the course would be ridden into almost block headwinds. Amazingly, the fastest time on the day was elite rider, Si Wilson of Brother NRG with a time of 20:17. The wind must have died down when he set off!
Paul Basson made good progress with his time trialling endeavours too, posting a time of 24:27, with Steve Whittington finishing in 13th spot with a time of 22:53
