Centreville’s Charlotte Boothman has made a strong winning start to her time-trialling in 2019, building on her excellent results in 2018. Vets Dan Shackleton and Paul Basson have also started well, along with Ben Stead who placed 2nd at the Macclesfield 25 recently to add to his 6th and 7th placings this year.
On the 3rd of March Charlotte won the North Lancs Hilly 30 mile SPOCO with 1.26.14, second woman being Jan Scotchford in 1.30.28. Dan Shackleton was 13th in 1.14.44 and fellow vet Paul Basson was 26th in 1.21.43, with male winner Richard Bideau clocking 1.07.31.
On the 17th March at the Lancaster hilly spoco 21 miles Charlotte was third lady, behind winner Christina Weijak and second-placed Rebecca Rimmington.
On 31st March took first at the Border City Wheelers hilly 17 mile SPOCO with 39.49 to second lady Carol Westmorland’s 44.37.
On the 10th of April 2019 Charlotte was again first woman at the VTTA 25 at Winmarleigh, with 1.01.31. Second woman was Deborah Moss with 1.02.04. Centreville’s top vet Dan Shackleton was an excellent 4th overall with 56.30, thankfully now gradually recovering from a health issue which affected his early season. Best of luck to Dan, who placed 30th overall in the BBAR last year.
This is a very strong start to the season for Centreville – it looks like 2019 will be a good year for the green, blue and white…..
